Tampa Bay Lightning's Ross Colton Traded to Predators in Deal

The Tampa Bay Lightning's former forward Ross Colton has been traded to the Nashville Predators as part of a deal that includes goalie Isak Posch and draft picks. Colton, who was originally drafted by the Lightning in 2016, made a significant impact during his time in Tampa, including scoring the Cup-clinching goal in the 2021 Stanley Cup playoffs. The trade was announced on Tuesday, with the Predators acquiring Colton in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick, a 2027 third-round pick, and goalie Magnus Chrona. Colton's contract runs through 2027 with a $4 million cap hit, making him a valuable addition to the Predators' forward lineup. During his time with the Lightning, Colton showcased his versatility as a two-way winger, contributing both offensively and defensively. After being traded to the Colorado Avalanche in June 2023, he had a productive first season, scoring 17 goals and achieving a career-high 40 points. However, his role diminished in the Avalanche's deep roster, leading to his recent trade to Nashville. Colton's experience and skill set will provide the Predators with added depth as they aim for a playoff push.
